COURT REJECTS FIDESZ SUIT AGAINST HUNGARIAN WEEKLY. The
Budapest Metropolitan Court on 14 December ruled that the
weekly "Elet es Irodalom" cannot be obligated to run a
correction to an article it published on the financial wealth
of some leaders of the ruling Federation of Young Democrats-
Hungarian Civic Party. The article, published on 20 August,
claimed that FIDESZ leaders have gained part of their wealth
from party funds. The court ruled that the article's
allegations are based on facts and therefore constitute an
opinion for which no correction can be demanded. The court's
decision reversed an earlier ruling by the Pest Central
District Court in favor of the FIDESZ leaders. MSZ
