SHORT-TERM RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION OPEN

The Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy of the Central European Uni
versity is advertising a short-term position for a research assistant.  The dur
ation of the assignment is four to five months for a half-time position, or two
months for a full-time position.  The part-time option is preferred.  The star
ting date is June 1.

The key responsibility of the research assistant will be to plan, conduct and 
execute a research project related to sources of funding  for environmental
remediation projects.  The researcher may be involved in other departmental
activities as well.

The ideal candidate:  Has a university degree in a related subject
(environmental policy; internati
onal relations, etc.)
  Can work independently and delivers promptly to a deadline
  Is mature and responsible
  Possesses the initiative and the ability to design, carry out, and complete
work on his/her own
  Is creative and comes up with new ideas of his/her own  Has some experience of
writing up such projects in English  Has an excellent command of English  A
working knowledge of Hungarian would be ideal, but is not essential  Some
knowledge in the field of environmental remediation is an advantage
  Experience of writing proposals (especially for EU projects) is also an advan
tage.

Compensation will be according to the candidate's qualifications within the ran
ge of 100,000 - 150,000 HUF/month for a half-time position, and in the range of
 200,000 - 300,000 HUF/month for a full-time position.
