CND Personnel Change ............................................. 29 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From:"Xiong Bo" After one year excellent and innovative services, the manager of China News Digest (CND), Mr. Xu, Gang of Kent State University (gxu@kentvm.bitnet) is leaving his manager's post on August 1st, 1990. However, he will continue to be an active member of CND on the network. Mr. Wei, Yagui of Indiana University (yawei@UCS.indiana.edu or yawei@BRONZE.ucs.indiana) has been elected next CND manager by CND members and will be in charge of the daily operations of CND. His tenure will start on August 1st, 1990 and end July 31, 1991. Wei, Yagui has been doing some managerial work in CND for a few months and been proved qualified to assume the position. CND had no need to have an official manager at the founding in March, 1989 when it had only four staffs and four hundred readers. In June/July of 1989, CND was growing rapidly to about ten staffs and near 2,000 readers and has been keeping growing since then. Xu, Gang took the responsibility for managing CND's daily operation as the need for a manager was observed in September 1989. Thanks to CND readers' support and contributions, CND is now providing China-related news on the daily basis to some 7,000 readers in 20+ countries on the network, and CND has been improving itself since its founding. CND will remain independent of any other organizations and all of its 50+ members around the world will still be of the nature of volunteer workers. CND welcomes readers contributions and suggestions.
